Biographical Information

Steve Toon is a Partner in Allen Austin’s Houston office. Steve brings to the firm and his clients over 35 years of executive management experience within the banking, transportation and energy sectors. He has significant experience working with corporate boards and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors. He brings to his search practice the highest professional standards and a strong commitment to personal integrity and client service.

Steve has been a senior officer and CFO of both private and publicly traded companies. He has directed an award winning investor relations program and cultivated mutually beneficial relationships with securities analysts, rating agencies, commercial and investment banks and a wide variety of customers and service providers. He has negotiated over $6 billion in financings and in 2007, one of his transactions was named The North American Oil and Gas Deal of the Year by Project Finance Magazine.

He has directed SEC reporting and has executed public securities offerings. His clients benefit from his years with Bank of America, United Energy Resources (NYMEX), EOG Resources (NYMEX), XCL, Ltd. (AMEX), United Gas Pipe Line, Lend Lease Trucks and Falcon Gas Storage. As an executive of these companies, his experience includes natural gas pipelines, E & P, oil field services, drilling, gas storage, commodities trading operations and risk management. In addition, Steve is familiar with FERC and Texas Railroad Commission regulation and has acted as an expert witness in rate case proceedings. He has substantial M & A experience and has been a key contributor to several private equity negotiations.

Steve is a native Houstonian and has many friends and associates throughout the community. He is on the Board of The Council on Alcohol and Drugs Houston. During 2007 he was the Chairman of its Foundation Board and was also named the Council’s “Volunteer of the Year”. He loves photography, saltwater, golf and Labradors.
